I agonised over the choices in this kitchen. Choosing hard surfaces is hard. I thankfully have a husband who is a gun at layout. That part just isn’t fun for me. We’d lived in this house for a long time before embarking on this renovation which helped us with some non-negotiables.
For instance, we wanted a huge fridge and freezer. We were sick of having to dig deep for our food. I also knew I wanted a large sink but no sink on the island bench. We’d learnt that sinks on the island always made our house feel messy. Having the sink in the unofficial butler’s kitchen was the best move we could have made on this plan. The other pearl in this space is the appliance cupboard which houses our Thermomix, Coffee machine and Toaster amongst other things. We love having easy access to these whilst still keeping them behind closed doors.
